If you believe in science at all, I invite you to listen to the mini series “Our Universe” on Netflix. It presents a summary of what happened from the Big Bang to life on Earth. When we listen to this series, we become aware of the incredible luck of being able to live on our beautiful Earth, we human beings, animals, trees, flowers and everything else.
When I go out at night to walk my dog, I look at the stars and think that my own personal existence is a miracle in itself. Then I listen to the news the next day and I am forced to see that the world has always been governed by madmen who are only good at trying to destroy everything. Recently and currently, there are Putin, Natayahou, Bashar El-Assad, George W. Bush and many others.
In another science series, a scientist exposed the great mass destruction that has occurred on Earth; the best known being that of the dinosaurs. This scientist said that the next great mass extinction will be humans. In the best scenario, it will be another interplanetary cataclysm. In the worst scenarios, it will be nuclear or ecological destruction.
I just listened to the film about Einstein on Netflix and Einstein said, following the Second World War, that nothing could prevent the destruction of human beings if those in power did not change. 75 years later, we are forced to see that nothing has changed at all.
I don't know if I'm a realist or a pessimist, but I now believe that nothing can stop human beings from self-destruction. In the meantime, I will continue to look at the stars and thank life for giving me this incredible chance to exist!
