Players would join into a tournament.
Let’s assume there are 120 players
Everyone would play a normal game on whatever time control the tournament is.
If a player WINS, he goes UP a “Variant”
If a player LOSES, he goes “DOWN” a variant
To win, you need to win in every variant IN A ROW.
If the game is a draw, they both stay on the current level.
I think regular chess should be variant 1: and if a player loses in regular chess they stay on regular chess.
Some cons of this mode:
Don’t know how they would display rating and performance rating
Some players maybe good or bad at specific variants
This could cause MASSIVE rating issues too.
