Is Limiting Accounts a Good Idea?

Is it possible to limit the amount of accounts created on lichess to two? The only way possible I can think of is by providing your real name with proof (driver's license) to the lichess team. Fide titled players I believe have to provide their real name to lichess so why not everyone?

The reason why limiting the accounts to two maybe a good idea is that it prevents people from coming back that are cheaters.

The reason why two accounts is mentioned instead of one is because some people prefer to test openings, middlegames, or beserking with another account, which is fine. Also, a second account may be fine if a person gets a second chance for cheating.

The downside is that some people would prefer to stay anonymous, which is fine. People would just play anonymously, which is already included on lichess. Also, lichess would only keep your real name and not make this public so I don't see the downside.

What do most people think?
its an absolute must, i wanted to create a forum thread about it

its beyond frustrating to see new accounts of the same people every day. You play a 2400 player with a "1500 rated"new account every so often and not only are u taken by surprise u risk twice the amount of rating which isnt fair at all. Not to mention some of them use it to either troll or repeated harrassment of other members which just means more work for the staff.

i was repeatedly harrassed by a member who persistently created new account after being banned, it took the repeated attention of several mods until the matter was resolved. The point is we could prevent all this by putting stricter rules on alt creations.
#1 I imagine it's a very tedious work for the volontary lichess mods to receive 100000's copies of driver licenses, ID-cards, pass ports,... and register it on every player, but I don't know. Also I think many players will leave lichess because they either will stay anonymous or for the reason that registering is too complicated.
Maybe it's a good idea to have the option to play only with players with +100 games, or something like that.
Yes, everyone should provide:
- driving licence
- copies of all pages of the passport
- SSN (or its equivalent for non-US people)
- password for a banking account (just in case a person somehow created a new account, lichess should be able to withdraw money to refund each person who was affected)

Only after these benevolent measures you would sleep freely without worrying to lose 20 imaginary lichess points

Why don't you just stop blaming cheaters for your rating instead
We should have to provide a birth certificate, a signed note from a relative proving all the stuff you are submitting is real, a copy of every page in your passport, digital and paper(mailed). Password and pin number for all bank accounts you have, criminal record, IP address, browsing history, email address and password, drivers license, IQ score, blood type, color preference, DNA sample, retina scan, and fingerprint. After all this has been put through a committee to validate its authenticity, It can go through some specially nominated people who can give permission by paper mail with a special passcode which allows you to play for 24 hours, if they are happy with your performance that you are human, they will let you keep your account. This is the only way for Lichess to stay free for all, promoting the freedom of chess over the tyranny and control of other chess sites.
I didnt read the part about identification. That I think is taking it too far. I do however think, if alts are reported they should get banned.
