I think this is not a draw because although the checkmate cannot be forced, there are possible positions where two knights can have a checkmate
actually without a pawn two knight can not mate a sole king. It must reach a stalemate position before one of the two knight can give a checkmate. Actually it was a draw in classical (thats why I gave up my only knight), but I don't know the rules in blitz...
While two knights and a king vs king can't force checkmate, it is still possible for checkmate to occur, with both players cooperation or one just not knowing what he is doing. For that purpose, it is a theoretical draw but not a forced draw. The game can continue to be played, allowing you to be timed out.
