Are you good at resigning?

> Abandoning a lost game with resigning - say 5 times in total - should result in a permanent block of the user account. It is absolutely a shame, unforgivable.

But in tournaments we must play a lot of games

> No one has any obligation ever, to resign if they don't wish to, unless they are stalling and don't intend to play further. I also think it is more honourable to allow a mate. It is abhorrent when someone who has mate in 1 or 2 and lets time run out, wanting you to resign instead of taking the obvious mate. This kind of behavior should be punished.
> The bottomline should be that one should never let time run unless you are thinking about the next move/s. Stallers, whether winners or losers are bad sports.

You are true
two words: opportunity cost.

Resign and start another game that will be more enjoyable.

> I decided to let an opponent play to checkmate the other day because his attack had been quite beautiful and I felt it deserved to be played to its conclusion. I thought that was a sign of respect for the game he had just played. Turns out it properly upset him, to the point he interjected to angrily to 'show' me the mate on my move, thinking I hadn't seen it, shouting 'it's obvious'! Go figure.

Yeah i dont understand that. if you see my forced mate just resign, i already saw it and i can play it through on analysis board if i want. i dont gain anything from showing it off. if it's so beautiful it deserves to be left unsaid but understood. just my worldview.
