Beginner friendly chess engine

Hi, if you are interested, here's a link to a moderate-level chess engine that is suitable for beginners. It's style of play reminds somewhat of a human opponent and it has limited look ahead, so a draw is quite likely, but if you want to win you have to apply some tactics and planning.

Alex - windows is telling me it's a scary file and nobody else has downloaded it. Can you vouch for the file?
It's also 160 KB - which is the same size as the file that was encrypting hard drives for ransom.
Just compile it yourself then...? I tend to trust FOSS software. I sincerely doubt it's cryptolocker -- if you're that paranoid just run it in a VM, jeez.

On a side note, when you say "windows is telling me it's a scary file," what exactly is telling you that? Windows Defender? Chrome? Or some 3rd-party antivirus?
Couldn't find any source code. Checked out default svn repo, empty and can't see any license, I'm more suspecting of it being hosted on sf without it. Project registered within a few hours and it might appear later
Alright, that is a bit sketchy. I guess I need to open links before opening my big mouth. xD

(...and it's not on git either...)
I tried to run it - I've got nothing left to lose but porn on this machine and so it probably is the best vm there is. 8.1 thinks there's something dodgy with the file - avast doesn't.
I have a "spe-shul" AV with me right now. I'll run it through that and check for any malicious markers.
Cheers - it's probably legit - but as my mum said - don't put your......
nevermind
